Sadly, this is the first AND last picture I have from BCN from my camera since I stupidly deleted images. The battery is pretty much dead. Will try and borrow some photos from others and from my flip. which still works.

1. I forgot the charger for my camera battery at home.
2. I accidently deleted all of the last day’s I took (luckily no HUGE losses there as they were mostly blurry pics of ham. but day 2 and 3 are lost! Oh and see #1 about me not having a camera.) sigh.
3. I packed too much for the trip BUT i didn’t pack enough underwear and socks. We sort of have a washing machine but that broke immediately.
4. 3 of my fellow travelers are now on Day 3 without their luggage which was lost from london to barcelona and is god knows where. I am travelling with hobos. British Airways apparently loses a lot of luggage. I am in fear of the return flight. I had a semi-horrible flight experience on the way to london which I may recount later.

So I Go to LAX…

I have a ridiculously large rolling duffel weighing about 1 pound away from the 50 pound luggage gouge fee. I have no idea what the hell I have in there that weighs so much. Actually it is probably the snacks and the sack of Euro coins. I hope there are a lot vending machines in Europe.
The picture is not blurry, the food is actually that crappy. Except for that weird tabouli lentil thing on the left.
And about 15 or so hours later I am in Heathrow Airport in London. Have no pics, cause it just looked like any other airport except with a lot more British Airway and shamrock covered planes. (what the hell is a lingus?)
And then a hellish ride on a shuttle that took up through the bowels of the airport tarmac. we seemed to go through all sort of tunnels and warehouses. I was totally expecting a animatronic Johnny Depp to show up to send us down a steep drop water flume.
But it was still exciting even though I was stuck in what was basically a purgatory mall at an airport.
One whole FISH with chips. (None of that Nugget or strip BS here)
Then another hellish shuttle ride (the jurassic park version this time) and then more jetlag purgatory at the gate where everyone is either sleeping or just staring out into empty space like mental patients.
And we finally leave and get to BARCELONA! So I will try to get pics up here soon!
Oh, and British Airways lost 3 out of 5 of our party’s luggage (not mine thank god! Ramen and sack o’ Eurochange still intact) so I imagine the first night in our rental flat will be like prison where toothpaste, soap and clean clothes will be a commodity (I just traded a pair of my socks for a carton of smokes and shank made from a baguette).

Traveling in Tokyo, you end up with a crap load of coins when traveling around buying snacks, grab bags and more snacks. Luckily there are a lot of vending machines ready to take your money there. I love drinking liquids of all types and I love buying liquids from vending machines. Hot or cold. Sweet or savory. Beer or not beer. They have it. Even Ramen in a can.
